William Egginton is the Decker Professor in the Humanities, and the director of the Alexander Grass Humanities Institute, at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. His books include The Splintering of the American Mind (Bloomsbury, 2018); What Would Cervantes Do? Navigating Post-Truth With Spanish Baroque Literature (McGill-Queens UP, 2022); and The Rigor of Angels: Borges, Heisenberg, Kant, and the Ultimate Nature of Reality (Pantheon, 2023).
