Anna Whitelock is a reader in early modern history at Royal Holloway, University of London. She lectures on political, social and cultural history in the 16th and 17th century, and is director of the London Centre for Public History. Her latest book is Elizabeth’s Bedfellows: An Intimate History of the Queen’s Court (2013), published in the US as The Queen’s Bed, which won the 2015 American PEN/Jacqueline Bograd Weld award for biography. She lives in Cambridge.
