David Henkin is the Margaret Byrne Professor of History at the University of California, Berkeley. His books include Becoming America (McGraw-Hill, 2015), co-authored with Rebecca McLennan, and The Week: A History of the Unnatural Rhythms That Made Us Who We Are (Yale University Press, 2021).
