Mike Cassidy is Associate Professor of Earth Science at the University of Birmingham in the UK and the co-founder of a new charity, the Global Volcano Risk Alliance. He is also a research affiliate at the Centre for the Study of Existential Risk at the University of Cambridge, as well as a member of the steering committee of the Volcanic Impacts to Climate and Society working group.
