Shachar Pinsker

Professor, LSA, University of Michigan

Shachar Pinsker is a literary scholar and cultural historian, specialising in modern multilingual Jewish literature and culture in Palestine/Israel, Europe and America. He is a professor in the departments of Middle East Studies and Judaic Studies at the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts, and served as the associate director of the Frankel Center. He is a fellow of the American Academy for Jewish Research. His latest book is A Rich Brew: How Cafés Created Modern Jewish Culture (2018).
