Alan Lightman

Professor of the Practice of Humanities, Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Alan Lightman is a novelist, essayist and physicist, and professor of the practice of humanities at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is the author of Einstein’s Dreams (1992). His most recent books are Searching for Stars on an Island in Maine (2018) and In Praise of Wasting Time (2018). He lives in the Boston area.
