Lecturer, Mary Ward Centre
Alexandra Stein teaches social psychology at the Mary Ward Centre. She was previously an associate lecturer at Birkbeck, University of London. Her research focuses on the social psychology of ideological extremism. Her latest book is Terror, Love and Brainwashing: Attachment in Cults and Totalitarian Systems (Routledge, 2016). In 2002 she published a memoir, Inside Out: A memoir of entering and breaking out of a Minneapolis political cult, recently rereleased in a new edition.
