Carlos Noreña is professor of history at the University of California, Berkeley. He is the author of Imperial Ideals in the Roman West: Representation, Circulation, Power (Cambridge University Press, 2011) and Empire of Laws: Lawmaking and Imperialism in Republican Rome (under contract with Princeton University Press).
