Chris Millard is a lecturer at the University of Sheffield. He is the author of A History of Self-Harm in Britain: A Genealogy of Cutting and Overdosing (2015). He is interested in the history of anthropology, history of emotions and the concept of ‘parity of esteem for mental health’. He is currently working on a history of illness deception, provisionally entitled Munchausen Syndromes: Scroungers, Trolls and Child Abuse.
