Christopher Cameron is an associate professor of history at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte. He is also the founder and president of the African American Intellectual History Society. His research interests include African-American religion, slavery and abolition, and American religious and intellectual history. His forthcoming book on black freethinkers explores African-American humanism, agnosticism and atheism from the late-18th century to the present. He lives in Charlotte.
