Daniel J. Siegel, M.D. is a clinical professor of psychiatry at the UCLA School of Medicine, founding co-director of the Mindful Awareness Research Center at UCLA, and Executive Director of the Mindsight Institute, which aims to teach the development of mindsight in individuals, families and communities and how it can be enhanced by examining the interface of human relationships and basic biological processes. His latest book is Mind: A Journey to the Heart of Being Human (2016).

Reading this chain of fascinating and illuminating reflections on the various topics that arise with this essay is deeply rewarding for both my conduit and constructor facets of mind! There are so many particulars to respond to, and being new to the aeon community, I am not sure how to collectively communicate with this unfolding conversation…so here I’ll just say that the opportunity to widen our ways of seeing “who we are” and experiencing life directly can let the wild and wondrous journey we’re all on together become even more vivid in this set of communications!
