David M Peña-Guzmán is associate professor of humanities and liberal studies at San Francisco State University. He specialises in critical animal studies, the history and philosophy of science, and contemporary European philosophy. He is the author of When Animals Dream: The Hidden World of Animal Consciousness (2022), coauthor of Chimpanzee Rights: The Philosophers’ Brief (2019) and cohost of the popular Overthink podcast.
