Derek Skillings is a biologist and philosopher of science. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bordeaux/CNRS where he works on the philosophy and biology of holobionts, symbiosis, microbiomes, and biological individuality. His work has been published in Philosophy of Science, Biology & Philosophy, and Trends in Ecology and Evolution, among others.
