Elay Shech is professor of philosophy at Auburn University in Alabama, US. He is the author of Idealizations in Physics (2023) and (with Michael Watkins) The Metaphysics of Color (2025), and the co-editor (with Insa Lawler and Kareem Khalifa) of Scientific Understanding and Representation: Modeling in the Physical Sciences (2023). He’s published in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Conversation. His current project is a book under contract with Cambridge University Press, tentatively titled Bias in AI: Aligning Algorithms with Human Values. See here for public related online public lecture.
