Gideon Koekoek is associate professor in the department of Gravitational Waves and Fundamental Physics at Maastricht University in the Netherlands, and holds advanced degrees in both physics and education. He creates university courses, does research in gravitational waves and general relativity, and coordinates regional, national and international projects for public, educational and political outreach of physics, such as the international teacher’s programme MaGIC, and initiatives for the Dutch Black Hole Consortium and Einstein Telescope Collaboration. He is a frequent presenter on science, research, and education.
