The new history of slavery and capitalism

I think the basic problem here is the use of Marx’s bogus term < capitalism >. Whenever I ask people what this word means, it seems to be something like < trade > or < industry >. Since both of those are thousands of years old and common to every even half-advanced culture, I think it helps more to ask why some societies enslave others and some societies decide this is wrong. The idea there’s such a thing as < capitalism > is just a red herring.
