Somaditya (Soma) Banerjee is a historian of science and South Asian history at Austin Peay State University in Tennessee. He is the author of The Making of Modern Physics in Colonial India (2022). His research explores the entanglements of science, empire, and modernity in South Asia. Trained in both physics and history, Banerjee brings an interdisciplinary lens to his teaching and scholarship, and is deeply committed to undergraduate and graduate research as well as public-facing work that bridges scientific and humanistic ways of understanding the modern world.
