Stephen Case is a historian of science at Olivet Nazarene University in Illinois and the director of the university honours programme. His latest book is Making Stars Physical: The Astronomy of Sir John Herschel (2018). His is also co-editor of the forthcoming Cambridge Companion to John Herschel for Cambridge University Press.
