Reading the comments, it’s especially interesting to see the range of attitudes toward the Bible – from belief in historicity (at least of the later historical narratives) to complete dismissal. I believe that, even for those of us who may not read it carefully, the Bible – or at least how it’s been interpreted by different religious traditions over the last few hundred years – has had an important indirect impact on various views of ours, including how we view Israel/Palestine/the Holy Land.
