Steven C Bullock is professor of history at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts. His new book, Tea Sets and Tyranny: The Politics of Politeness in Early America (2017), examines the political history of politeness during the eighteenth century. He also wrote the pioneering Revolutionary Brotherhood, the first modern study of early American Freemasonry.
